Accelerating Collaborative Cancer Research

Congratulations CIBIT chief investigator Viktor Vegh, part of a UQ based team awarded an Accelerating Collaborative Cancer Research grant from Cancer Council Queensland. The team, led by Prof Andrew Barbour of the Frazer Institute and PA Hospital, will use deep learning analysis of medical images to identify new markers of tumour phenotype to provide improved precision medicine for oesophageal cancer. CIBIT provided a platform for increasing research efforts around imaging methods development using machine learning approaches which has led to new opportunities, including this collaboration with the Frazer Institute.
